SELF-MANAGED SUPER FUNDS

Save for your retirement

Self-managed super funds (SMSFs) are a way of saving for your retirement. They are structurally different to other types of  superannuation funds.

Unlike traditional super funds, the members of the SMSF are usually the trustees and they are responsible for complying with the super and tax laws.

A SMSF must be set up correctly so that it can receive contributions, is eligible for tax concessions and is easy to administer and audit.

We recommend engaging an experienced accountant to assess whether a SMSF is right for you. It’s a major financial decision and requires time and skill to set up and operate.
